Online violence is effectively silencing young women’s voices, causing many to self-censor and withdraw from public debate due to fear of backlash. This phenomenon not only stifles free speech and democratic participation but also perpetuates gender inequality, as women’s perspectives and ideas are marginalized or dismissed. To combat this, it is essential to create safe online spaces, promote digital literacy and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
