The Women’s Democracy Network Zimbabwe, a network of women leaders, aspiring leaders and champions for inclusive policy making in launching the Seventh Annual 10 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women in Politics campaign calls for accelerated action to strengthen prevention and accountability of duty bearers at all levels to end all forms of violence against women. This advocacy effort aims to raise awareness about the pervasive issue of violence against women in politics (VAWP) and mobilize stakeholders to take action, as WDN-ZW seeks to promote women’s participation in governance processes by equipping them with knowledge, skills and support for individual and collective advocacy for women’s rights responsive policy making processes.
The 10 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women in Politics Campaign is an annual campaign where we pause to reflect , take stock, renew and re commit to individual and collective action towards an enabling environment for women’s participation in politics, leadership, governance, policy making and development processes at community, national, regional and international level free from all form of violence.

Let’s challenge harmful social norms, be catalysts for transformation and create a gender-equal world for all therefore we need more women in public life, not just to represent women’s interests but to bring an inclusive and women’s rights responsive perspective to all levels of policy-making. Together, we can create a world where women can participate in politics without fear of violence or intimidation.
