Gender-based violence is a situation in which an individual, regardless of their gender, is abused or violated by their intimate partner or family member due to various reasons. In many cases, couples in marriages argue over financial issues and family disputes, leading to violence. It’s important to recognize that gender-based violence affects not only women but also men, causing mental and emotional distress. Furthermore, children are also vulnerable to abuse by their guardians, but they may not have the support or resources to seek help, leaving them feeling trapped and alone.

To combat this issue, it is recommended that the government enacts and enforces strict laws to protect all individuals regardless of gender. Additionally, non-governmental organizations that support survivors of gender-based violence are crucial, and victim-friendly units must be made more welcoming and supportive for those who have experienced trauma. This can be achieved by providing access to counseling, legal assistance, and other essential services that help survivors rebuild their lives.
